Mother's Day 2009

Mothers Day is probably my favorite holiday! It just brings back so many memories and floods of emotions that words cannot even express. I laid in bed just thinking about the day I found out I was going to be a mommy, Chris' excitement, finding out we were being blessed with twins, and to think about their birth still brings me to tears! I can still remember June 21, 2007 as if it were yesterday. After realizing that my water had broke, I think Chris broke his record speed driving me to the hospital! And within minutes of the c-section, hearing Jonas' first cry brought me to tears! Thats an understatement...I was flooding the place! Looking at Jonas while waiting to hear Nolan cry...hearing the Dr say "you're going to feel me pull out boy #2 now" and then the squeal of Nolan! (And yes, he still has the same squeal!) These past 2 years have been nothing short of blessing after blessing as the boys learn new things and we take adventure after adventure. I truly cannot put into words what being a mother means to me! Love, hope, excitement, awe, breath taking, endless days of laughter, endless nights of worry, and thanking God all along the way....

Sunday I got to sleep in and Chris got up with the boys. They made me breakfast in bed which was fabulous! I got the sweetest cards, a gift card, and a necklace with 2 charms- one charm with a "J" & one with an "N"....how I treasure it already! We visited with family after church and finally got to come home and just enjoy my 3 men! And the best part of my day- seeing daddy and the boys all dancing together when they didn't know I was watching...I'm just in awe of God's blessings!

We are ALL BOY!!!

Last week, went went to Chris' parents house for our usual Sunday night dinner. After dinner, the boys wanted to play on Nana's back patio. On the back patio is the water bucket for Mia & Harley- the guard dogs! You can already see where I'm going with this so I will just let the pictures tell the story!

Can I take my shirt off....

You know where this is going...

Jonas gave up on the bucket and decided to ride :) Love those lil cheeks- he'll kill me for this one day!

RV Park time!!

Its that time again! Oh how we LOVE summer, camping, smores, fire pits, sunsets, golf cart rides, walking by the lake.... 2 weeks ago we headed to the RV Park to clean up our camper and get it ready. We were so excited that we cleaned 1 day and moved in the next! The boys have already played in the kiddie pool! We love our weekend escape and are really looking forward to this summer since the boys are at the perfect age to enjoy all the summer has to offer!!

Happy Birthday to Me!

April 17th, I turned the big 26! I know, so old :) For my birthday, Chris had arranged for all of our friends to have a couples night out and celebrate on Saturday night. Since my birthday was actually on Friday, Chris wanted to do something special. Brace yourselves because he may be the sweetest husband in the world! He picked me up for lunch and took me to the park. He had packed us a picnic and we ate, walked around the lake, played on the swings, and of course, fed the ducks! That night, he decided he wanted to do more so Mimi & Poppy took the boys to dinner with them and Chris overdid himself! You see, Chris has a little aluminum boat that he takes on a fishing trip with "the guys" every spring. They fish all day while floating downstream, pull over to the bank, cook over a fire, sleep in tents, and do it all over again for 3 days! Well, I was wanting to go out on this lil "dingy"... So Chris packed us dinner & a bottle of wine and, you guessed it, we pulled the boat down to the lake behind moms house and paddled off! Yes, paddled...no motor on this boat! It was so much fun! We laughed ourselves silly while enjoying the sunset. When we got back, our lil men were ready to help us clean out the boat and eat birthday cake with mommy! The following night, we met all the couples at Wasabi for dinner. Sarah informed the waiter that it was my birthday without me knowing so out they came with cake, THE HAT (dreadful!), and singing! Afterwards we went around Knoxville and had a great time....lots of new experiences that night :) Thanks babe for always making my birthday so special! You're the best! And thanks guys for coming out and celebrating with us! Our couples nights are always so much fun :) Enjoy the pictures!

Leann & Daylan's Shower

2 weeks ago, Bethanie, Lisa, & I hosted a shower for my sisterinlaw, Leann who is having her first baby this summer! I am so excited to finally be "Aunt Mandy" that I just can't stand it! I made Daylan a lot of gifts and was very proud of how each of them turned out! I could kick myself though for not taking pictures of everyone at the shower. I was so busy running around that I put down my camera and didn't pick it back up! Sorry...here are the pictures I did get- some of the shower and the rest of my craftiness :)

Moe is in the process of painting a mural on 1 of the nursery walls...will post a finished picture soon!
